3 Types of Masonry Works

Brick Masonry Construction

Brick masonry works construction may use either the first-class burnt clay bricks or the medium quality ones for less important construction. Residential construction with second class bricks is best for plastered surfaces, as these offer little finish and are typically used in low-grade buildings. The tensile strength of brick masonry is less, regardless of what type of brick is used. In this article we will explore how the size, position, and number of openings to a masonry opening can impact performance.

Stone Masonry Construction

Stone is the strongest, most durable, and weather-resistant of any other construction materials. These are less affected by daily wear and tear. Masonry works structures made out of stone last for a much longer period than other buildings. Stone has a lifespan of between 300 to 1000 years. As it has many advantages, it's widely used in masonry construction.

Concrete Masonry Construction

Concrete blocks are stacked one on top of the other in a similar way to when bricks are used. This creates a staggered formation. Concrete Blocks are larger in size than bricks, so they require less time to lay.
